Programs
Gymkids
The children in this program are introduced to gymnastics in a fun, positive manner. The program separates children according to their ability. Children are placed into four groups after everyone has warmed up and rotate to each coach at four different stations. The class reviews and introduces basic gymnastics skills each week. All apparatus are used for both boys and girls.
Beginner 1 - Recreational
The basis for this class is the same as all gymnastics classes at SACAC, to teach correct gymnastics in a fun, positive and safe manner. The children start daily with a warm up of runs, followed by complete stretching of all muscle groups. The beginner classes are divided by gender and ability. The children stay with their coach the entire season. The purpose of this is to hae each coach keep track of the development and progression of skills for each apparatus.
Beginner 2
This program is for girls’ ages 6 to 9 who have demonstrated above average ability through the Beginner class and an interest in spending more quality coaching in gymnastics. There is no competition associated with this program, but it is more challenging than the beginners program. It is considered the stepping-stone to competitive level. Gymnasts must have a prior approval to enroll in this program.
Developmental
In this level refinement of basic skills and connecting them in developmental series is the focus. Our Developmental Squad is selected from our BEG 2 and BEG 1 programs based on their skills, interest, ability, and good behavior. At this level, it is important to individualize at the instruction to allow gymnast to reach his/her own potential. In this program, gymnasts are required to attend one and half-hour once a week. Any gymnast who is found ready to take part in a competition will be allowed if the coaches believe his/her level is suitable for competition. Gymnasts will be admitted into this program on the recommendation of the Head Coach.
Advanced Recreational
This program is designed for students who have an interest in spending more time at gymnastics activities. In this program the basic skills are similar to the beginners program with a slightly different objective. There is no competition associated with this program, but it is more challenging than the beginners program. The program is helpful in aiding total body fitness and coordination.
Pre Team and Team Competitive Programs
This program is designed for those students who have higher gymnastics skill levels. The students in this program represent SACAC gymnastics in local and international competition.

Afterschool Care
The gymnastics program provides after school care for primary and intermediate school students at Singapore American School who attend gymnastics programs after school on Mondays-Fridays. For primary school students the classroom teacher or aide will walk the children to the Intermediate School/Middle School cafeteria. The intermediate school students are expected to walk to the IS/MS cafeteria on their own. Once in the cafeteria they are checked in by the gymnastics aides. There are currently two aides who help out with the gym students. One aide is in charge of taking the 3:15 students to their classes as soon as all of the kids they are responsible for check in at the IS/MS cafeteria. The other aide will stay with the students who have the later 4:15 class in the cafeteria until about 4:00. Then she will take these students over to the gymnastics class. If you are interested in having your gymnast use the afterschool care make sure you circle yes on your registration form for afterschool care. SACAC will inform the administration that your child is participating in the afterschool care and the admin will give the teachers the list of students. It is also recommended that the parents of the gymnasts lets the teacher know that their child is in gymnastics and will be participating in the after school care.
It is the responsibility of the parents to arrange pick up outside the gymnastics gym at the end of the class. Gymnasts are not allowed to walk anywhere on campus by themselves after their gymnastic classes. For safety reasons, once they leave the gym they need to have adult supervision.
